The Brief History of The Sacred Heart Parish - Emmaus
The Catholic Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Emmaus, is the newest parish created in the Catholic Diocese of Garissa on 16th September 2018 by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Joe Alessandro. It was created from the Parish of Hola, and has two outstations, St. Peters HandaMpia and St. Pauls Bondeni. The parish is run by the Fraternity of the Holy Cross and all Saints fathers. The local communities are made of three tribes namely: the Orma, The Wardei and the Pokomos. The parish has around 250 families.
